FROM THE CHILDREN BEHIND THIS ORGANIZATION
It takes a village to raise a child so goes the saying. In return, what does the child do for the village? This is the fundamental question behind the activities of this organization. Encouraging children to contribute to the communities that nurture them with richness in experience.
This is our story,
One summer a group of children of the ages ranging 7-11, in a neighborhood in Newark, Delaware raised 13 dollars through a lemonade stand. this money was donated to Ronald McDonald house of Delaware. They continued to think that, if many join this cause, significant money could be raised to help the needy. Teaming up with a few more friends they raised over $200 towards Christmas gifts for children under medical care away from home at the Ronald McDonald house of Delaware. These were the seed projects in the evolution of THE LIGHT A SMILE FOUNDATION.
Adam Smith in his book Wealth of Nations conveys that there are only 3 fundamentals to production, they are labor/manpower, land and rent. Rent is argued to be made of labor and land. Not to be mistook for child labor, If only children could contribute in ways that enriches themselves the global productivity rises to better humanity.
On a lighter side, we all know today's children are tomorrow's future. Join the cause to Learn, Give and Grow for a better tomorrow.
Our mission is to make sure that every student, before growing into an adult, cultivates the motivation to contribute and give back to the community that nurtures them.
We want to bring out the selflessness in students, and encourage them to contribute to the society that raises them, by participating and or leading enriching projects.
